Adoptables Program at Tecumseh State Correctional Institution
Domesti-PUPS is a unique organization that has a breeding program (for service work) and a rescue program. We support both endeavors. In our Adoptables program we provide educational programming for inmate handlers in the prison facility, acquire dogs from shelters and rescue organizations, and teach the handlers to provide basic obedience training for these dogs with the goal of making them more adoptable to their forever loving homes. Adoption Coordinator
The Adoption Coordinator facilitates the adoption of the canines graduating with their CGC certification from TSCI. Uses social media to promote and advertise the available dogs. Arranges and facilitates meet and greets for potential adopters.

Setting
Most work would be online with the exception of meeting those individuals interested in meeting our adoptables. This is flexible, depending on the volunteer and family. Computer work could be done at home or at at the Domesti-PUPS Training Center.
Schedule
The majority of this role will be working online with flexible hours. Setting up the meet and greet with potential clients is flexible as well. A large majority of these visits will happen on the weekends or evenings when individuals are available.

Candidates to attend volunteer orientation through the Nebraska Department of Corrections annually.

Tasks
- Collect photos and other information about each dog, and uses social media to promote and advertise the available dogs.
- Identify the best home suited for each dog based on the available applicants. Example: high energy = would enjoy an active family.
- Communicate and update applicants of their status in the process or of possible matches
- Set up meet and greet with applicant/canine
- Demonstrate the skills of the dog to the potential adopter
- Provide appropriate veterinary records and receive funds from the applicant.
- Be comfortable talking to groups of people.
- Work closely with other volunteers within the TSCI program and attend meetings with TSCI volunteers either online or in person as needed.
Skills
- Marketing/social media background beneficial
- Basic computer skills, including use of email and social media platforms. Online work would be done utilizing your own PC
- Basic photography skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to communicate with diverse individuals
- Ability to promote dogs up for adoption, including presentations.

Training
- Attend a Domesti-PUPS orientation and basic training on our goals.
- Attend a meet and greet where volunteers will have an opportunity to meet other TSCI volunteers and discuss each individual’s role.
- Attend CGC classes with or without a dog, to become familiar with the commands and skills necessary to showcase the animals for potential adopters
