Naturally, financial health is crucial to ensuring that organizations like Domesti-PUPS can continue their work in the months and years ahead. Fundraising is even more crucial than ever—and events are a big part of this landscape. COVID-19 presents its challenges, but having an outdoor event was one event chose to continue this year.
At this event, we will be putting the following safety measures in place to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19:
At this event, we will be putting the following safety measures in place to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19:
- Staff & guests will be required to wear PPE at all times, except when they are sitting at their tables while they eat and drink (similar to a restaurant)
- We are requiring guests to visit a health screening station upon arrival where guests will have their temperature taken, asked a general health question (do you have any symptoms...)
- We will provide personal bottles of hand sanitizer to those who want them.
- Guests will also be provided their own pen (for use at the silent auctions) so multiple people are not touching pens and spreading germs.
- We are also promoting a "decorate your mask" or "mask-erade" and having a contest for the most creatively decorated mask. The person who wins will receive $100 to spend on our auction items.
- Spacing the tables or sitting areas farther apart than we have done in the past.
- Tables in the auction tents will be spaced further apart as well, and we will not put up any of the tent sidewalls to increase outside air flow.
- Food stations will be distanced from one another. And, we will provide volunteers to serve food rather than having the guests dish up their own food.
